Originally, Cornelia wanted to study costume or stage design and, after graduating from high school, she went to Bavaria to work in a ladies’ and men’s tailor shop. But after a year of piecework and the feeling that she was not being well educated, she left Bavaria and went to Thuringia with her girlfriend. At the Theater Nordhausen, she completed a season-long internship in set design. After that, she deselected theater work and decided to pursue an old craft. As a goldsmith and silversmith, she received her journeyman’s certificate after three and a half years of training and started working here in Nordhausen. After her parental leave, she thought she had to do something completely different again and completed vocational training as a physiotherapist. However, Cornelia never worked in this profession and was drawn back to her craft instead. She set up her own workshop in Herreden and worked parallel as a course instructor for metal design at the Nordhausen Youth Art School. Over the years, a more intensive activity developed in this institution. She worked in many school projects, vacation camps and workshops and gained a lot of experience.
